Rencontre avec un artiste francais...

[Space invaders in Paris]

Aujourd'hui, rencontre avec un artiste français. Qui?

Today, we will meet a French artist. Who? Nobody knows...

His art is as famous as his anonymity. Is he a musician? No. A painter? No. An architect? No. A comedian? No. He is a new generation artist, a mix between a tile setter and a video game designer.

His objective? To invade the world. His weapon? some pieces of glass. His victims? The walls of Paris as well as the main cities  in the world.

Invader started this project in 1998 with the invasion of Paris and then spread the invasion to 31 other cities in France (such as Montpellier, Marseille, Avignon, Rennes, Bordeaux, Lille, or Bastia...). London, Cologne, Geneva, Newcastle, Rome, Berlin, Lausanne, Barcelona, Bonn, Ljubljana, Vienna, Amsterdam, Bilbao, Manchester, Darlington are among the 22 other european cities which have been invaded. In the world, Los Angeles, New York City, San Diego, Bangkok, Tokyo, Katmandu, Mombasa, Melbourne, Perth and even Varanasi are now invaded with his colourful characters in mosaic tiles.

[Sarkozy in India for 2 days][speech-bubble : See, I can do that also!]
Caricature from Snut

The French president is in India since the 4th of December. After B. Obama and before Wen Jiabao (the Chinese prime minister), Sarkozy's visit marks the fact that France "recognizes" India as the second driving force in the world-growth.

Sarkozy will also lobby on behalf of French companies chasing multi-billion-dollar Indian contracts for fighter jets and nuclear technology.

Even if the French president said that no contract will be signed during the visit, this diplomatic travel was above all to reinforce the partnership between the two countries. France is the fifth commercial partner of India in Europe with 5.36 billions of trade.

Chanson de Noël !

Please find bellow the link to listen to the song the French students (grade 1 to grade 5) will sing for Christmas assembly.

This video is basically an advertisement for a program that use the "mind map" system to teach languages. The concept is well-explained and efficient...You can use it, for example, to learn the vocabulary of the topic.

If you are interested by this idea, google Tony Buzan (the creator of the mind maps). There is some videos on YouTube where he explains why and how mind maps work, saying that all the genius used them...try and lets see!
